A 600-hour curriculum
approved by the State University of New York, Education Department.
The objective is to systematically train the students to become
professional estheticians (beauticians) and prepare the students
for the licensing examination conducted by Department of State,
the State of New York. Basic entrance requirement is a high school
graduate or equivalent.
New classes begin every other month, starting January.
Three classes are available (at any one time) to cater for different
needs:
Daytime Class
--- Monday to Friday, 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm;
Evening Class --- Monday to Thursday, 5:15pm - 8:15pm;
Weekend Class --- Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 5:15pm.
The curriculum includes
Orientation -- 4 hours;
Subject 1 -- Safety and health -- 8 hours;
Subject 2 -- Bacteriology -- 18 hours;
Subject 3 -- Anatomy, Physiology, and Nutrition -- 27 hours;
Subject 4 -- Structure and Functions of the Skin -- 20 hours;
Subject 5 -- Superfluous Hair -- 30 hours;
Subject 6 -- Chemistry -- 7 hours;
Subject 7 -- Chemistry as Applied to Cosmetics -- 30 hours;
Subject 8 -- Electricity and Machines -- 34 hours;
Subject 9 -- Facial and Body Procedures -- 285 hours;
Subject 10 -- Make-up Techniques -- 83 hours;
Subject 11 -- Business Practices -- 30 hours;
Subject 12 -- Job Skills -- 6 hours;
Subject 13 -- Introduction to Paramedical Esthetics -- 18 hours.
New York State licensed teachers and experienced estheticians are
engaged to impart their professional knowledge and practical experience.
The state-of-the-art equipments give the students the actual first
hand knowledge of the current beauty industry. Total tuition fee
(incl. books and expenses) is $5,440. The school has been authorized
by the Immigration & Naturalization Services to issue I-20 (M-1
Visa) for foreign students to come to U.S.A. to study the above
course. |
